When The Headhunter Asks “How Did Your Interview Go?”

When the headhunter reaches out after an interview saying “How did it go?”, what’re they actually fishing for? Obviously not going to tell them think I bombed it etc. but would help in navigating the process knowing why they ask this / what to respond with other than all positive feedback

I think the best thing to do is simply be honest. I know when i was recruitng a had a lot of debrief calls with HHs after interviews and whenever they would ask me, it would go something like this, "I think it well pretty well, i believe i was able to provide great details about my deal experience and how this investment fit our thesis blah blah blah; however, i feel like i could have expanded more on the industry dynamics and challenges and how we got comfortable with the deal. but generally speaking i think it went well, i'm not going to say i killed but i certainly did not bomb. Hopefully they feel the same and keep me in the process. have you gotten any feedback?"

Just be honest. if you bombed you can easily say "it wasn't my best performance and not reflective of my skills"
