Why does blackstone do a 2 and out?
Heard from a friend that blackstone rarely do es the A2A for analysts they hire straight out of UG. Thought about this for a while, but it just doesn’t make sense as a recruitment strategy. any idea why?

I am a student in college so im just guessing here, but maybe they do it because everyone is doing it to attract the best talent straight out of UG + some mid-tier applicants (taking into account mid-tier bx interns are insanely smart anyways) and then just promote the top analysts + hire the rest associates from IBs?
Lmfao what are you talking about. Why would not A2Aing their analysts help them attract the best talent
Bc they all get jobs at tiger or sth
BX has 3 years programs actually for analysts, think you become associate in your third year
It's a 3 year mandatory program when you sign as an Analyst out of college, mandatory meaning they claw back all of your bonuses if you leave before your 3 years are up. However you do make Associate in your 3rd year (after 2.5 years), and Sr Associate after 3.5 years.
It's by far the fastest way to get to PE VP-equivalent, but most people still leave after the 3 years to go do something else.
