Did not have to for intern position at a REPE but had to for a FT position. Haven’t heard of anybody having to for an internship position in the brokerage or repe world. IB internships with RE focus have had modeling or a few technical questions.
Interviewed and landed an internship in capital markets at a brokerage shop (CBRE, JLL, Newmark type) did not have a modeling test. They do have modeling tests for FT roles.
