5 SFH Rental Properties on Resume?
I am aiming to make the move over from the architecture/GC (design build) side to work for a developer likely as a project manager or a development manager and am in the process of updating my resume. I just became a licensed architect recently so this is more of a mid career transition.
I do not have any career experience in real estate or development specifically. So I am looking to demonstrate experience in other ways via personal experience and RE finance certification etc.
What are people's thoughts on adding personal real estate experience to your resume? For example I have developed proformas for, acquired, gut rehabbed and successfully leased 5 rowhome properties on the side.
How do you think this would be viewed by a developer if I am applying for a proj./devp. manager role? Do you think this experience would be viewed as relevant or possibly laughable?
I think that would be great experience to show. People in real estate love to see entrepreneurial hustle. 100% add to your resume.
pudding Thanks for the feedback.
Do you think mentioning this in a cover letter to demonstrate interest would be an effective strategy as well? Or keeping it solely on the resume is best?
I think both. Resume if they only scanned the cover letter but CL tells more of the story
No clue but I think your resume is going to be more visible and read than a cover letter. But it would be good to mention it in the cover letter too.
