Acquisitions Analyst Intern in Fall?
I am currently a rising senior in university graduating early after the upcoming fall semester. I have a light courseload in the fall and would ideally want to intern in an acquisitions analyst type role before I graduate since my internship experience has only been in brokerage, and I want to land an acquisitions or other analysis role on the principal side upon graduation.
Do PE and other principal firms typically take interns in the fall? I haven’t seen anything on LinkedIn or other job websites but not sure if it is worth reaching out directly to people within these companies to see if they have a need. If not, would it be more beneficial to try to intern at an unrelated role (remain with brokerage, RE research) or spend my extra time working on modeling skills and informational interviews?
Yes they do. Last fall and winter I interned as a acq analyst and worked maybe 25 hours a week. Great experience to just underwrite lots of deals and stay dialed in on my underwriting before starting at another group after graduating. I highly recommend doing it. Stuff may come up near the end of the summer, just keep your eyes peeled.
