Acquisitions Bonus Expectations

Earlier this year, I started in an acquisitions role for a fairly large private investment company (top 20 industrial owners). I work 50-80+ hours a week depending on deal flow (not really counting at this point). Analyst with about 3+ years experience now. What can I expect in terms of bonus?

Percentages really depend on how well the firm/team have done during the past year.  Depends on what you do, but pretty normal to see 30 - 75%.  I can't really give you an idea unless there is some kind of baseline to work off of.

Bonuses for acq people usually relate to the amount of deals closed in a year (i.e. what generates acq fees from which bonuses are often justified), as well as performance of firm/fund, etc. This is what makes it so potentially profitable at the senior level, but the same concept sets the tone for junior people as well (even if subject to max cap %).

So, you should have a sense of amount based on level of activity, firm/fund performance, and the leveling setting expectations of your role (i.e. what % range is possible).
