Acquisitions Internship with Real Estate P/E

Hey everyone, was just offered a summer internship with a small and new (5 years old, 10 employees) real estate private equity firm. The internship is on the acquisitions team and is unpaid but comes with a small stipend at the end of the summer.

I have accepted the offer because it is something that seems very interesting to me and I believe I will learn a lot, but I am wondering what the pay structure is for a full-time acquisitions associate. Is it all salary, mostly commission, etc? Also, how much (ie salary, what % commission and how that works, etc.)? I just want to know what I can expect if I pursue this after school.

Definitely salary + bonus. Are you an MBA or just out of UG?

Most RE shops go analyst > associate/avp > director/vp > md/principal with junior/senior levels thrown in just so people feel like they are advancing. If you are finishing UG, you start as an analyst and if you are finishing your masters, it is usually associate, but could be senior analyst if you have no experience.

Salaries are going to depend on your city but first year analysts are around 65k-75k + 20% bonus (all in around 85k). First year associates are 90k-100k + 30% bonus (All in around 125k).
