ACRE Addition to Resume and GPA Requirement Inquiry
Should I add to my resume that I completed the ACRE course even though I studied Real Estate and Finance in college? Also, do REPE firms ask for your transcript from college to fulfill a GPA requirement?
On BD, probably no cap. Took the course and applied to a top 100 PERE. They asked me about my GPA and I folded.
Fucking love this community hahahahaha
dam dey den got down on my boy ill get that get back for a lil bit of pape
It’s all good bruv. I’m just keepin it P and stayin out the way.
When I add the ACRE course completion, should i add bullet points in the topics covered in the course?
On my resume, I put A.CRE under the additional information section with this bullet point: "Certifications: A.CRE Real Estate Financial Modeling Accelerator, Bloomberg Market Concepts". If you want a copy, PM me.
No. Thank you for the laugh though
I would not hire or take this seriously. As my boss famously says - This is amateur as fuck.
Take the ACRE addition seriously?
Put it on. It won’t make or break the resume. A modeling test will (and other things too)…we have had so many kids come to interviews saying they have an ACRE certificate and blow the modeling test. Hint the term - Amateur as fuck. I’ve taken it, thought it was good but what gets most is when you throw a curveball in there they don’t know the ins or outs, only specifics towards the model. The modeling test is no harder than any, we just want to ensure you can think through different scenarios, not just what you learned through a course.
But overall, I would leave off and bring up in interview. Then again, doesn’t matter if you add it anyway - just saying won’t change anything.
Hope this helps. Didn’t mean to come off as an asshole, my vyvance wore off.
Modern problems require modern solutions (adderall for the win)… also what are your thoughts on leaving out a GPA on a resume since (its less than the required) for a job posting that requires it (eg 3.5). I dont want to be immediately passed on when recruiters are looking at my resume. I have a ton of underwriting expeirences and sides positions that relate to acquisitions and I want those to be looked at more than just my GPA. (I triple majored initally but ended up going into a double during college)
What is your gpa?
3.2
If you are trying to break into REPE off rip this will be difficult with 3.2 regardless of target vs non target. Fact of the matter is if you don’t include it they could x you for incomplete resume or HR knows why it’s not included and if you do include it they could x you. Again, does not change much. In reality my advice to you is to be truthful and include it. Sure it’s under standard but network at these firms and have people vouch for you. I got an interview one time by literally being a good conversationist at a coffee chat with an associate. In the grand scheme of things people want to enjoy the their work colleagues and if you can illustrate your value and know your shit in addition to being a half decent person who isn’t awkward or a douche bag, you should be fine.
In your situation be truthful and network til it cringes you the fuck out, then do it again.
