Affordable Housing Industry

For those of you in the affordable housing industry can you share the following:

What aspect (development/acquisition/lending)
What market
What strategy (LIHTC,section 9 HUD, etc)
Short Term Outlook

I am currently at a boutique re investment firm - finding its legs in the post cap rate roulette workforce housing pricing stagnation(market rate), looking at lending/opportunistic distressed opportunities - thats having trouble raising capital(who isnt?). While I understand the cyclical nature of the industry as a whole, I really need to lock in on my career and I'm somewhat of an idealist so would love to find a role in a more altruistic segment of RE, but maybe this is a case of the grass is always greener?

Thanks yall
