An Architect; All she thinks of is Real Estate: Career Path Dilemma

Hello all,

Kindly bear with me as I know this is the most drafted topics that we get everywhere. But please suggest me as this has become way important for me cause I can't think of anything else than a career in Real estate.

Origin-- South Asia.

Age-- 28

Profession-- Architect (4+ yrs experience in design, small scale Project management.)

Academia-- B. Arch(5 yrs), Doing Executive MBA- 1st sem complete (only joined cause there's no flexible universities in here where we can just grab one or two finance course and add credit; sad tbh)

Career Goals-- Be skillful Real estate Developer, Investor, Owner, Career Coach for Business and RE Aspirants.

UG GPA- Around 3 probably (we had % system here, so I can't convert in exact)

Concept of RE industry is fairly new in my country. So, I'm thinking of applying for a RE degree in the US so as to break the ice for the knowledge and get related job experiences for a starter.

Questions:

  1. MSRE or MSRED? I don't know which track would best suit me as of now. Later on I don't want to regret on the decision if it hurts my chance to be recruited by a Developer after MSRE or no job in Investment after MSRED.

  2. Quality specialized course such as of RE is offered by elite Universities and that already shakes my confidence to apply. Can anyone suggest what Universities would be appropriate for me to target?

With the EMBA, I'm now eligible to apply for internship at a local Investment company (some invest in RE partially) in here. I think it's wise to try out internships at Developer and Investment firms so as to know at least something more at this point. I'll try to get internships as I finish up my masters application by December 22'.

Please feel free to shoot your comments and suggestions. I've been eager to be surrounded with people having mutual enthusiasm in RE since long.

Thank you. Much Appreciated.
