Analyst role lending for LifeCo - future options?

For background I have spent the last year and a half working in investment sales at a large brokerage in a supporting (read analyst) role.

I have the opportunity to join a lifeco as an analyst lending at the asset level. I'm curious what sort of roles this would set me up for in the future and if I would be able to move to more opportunistic debt funds? Would this experience be considered valuable going forward?

Thank you in advance.

Stalking you from another thread but I am currently a sr analyst at a life co doing asset level lending. Hoping to move to internally to Asset Management but if not my plan was to move to a bank if the market picks back up. Worst case (not even bad though) would be to be an originator at a lifeco. Good WLB and decent comp IMO, for reference most people above me have bought houses in a HCOL area in the last 5 years.
