Currently, I am interviewing with 2 REITMBA rotational programs. Anyone know typically how much an MBA candidate gets paid at a REIT (let's say year 1)?
I can't find the data from WSO database. Sorry for any inconvenience.
For Full-Time or internship? Also, I imagine REIT comp varies across the asset type and size. You may want to provide an AUM-like range and property type to get a better sense.
I can't say I have ton of recent data points on REITs in particular, but they have a reputation of paying "market" relative to their asset type, size, and market (as in where you will be working). I'd guess they should want to comp salaries with similar institutional real estate platforms seeking similar people. Bonuses can/may include stock grants (after all, a key advantage of publicly traded shares) and there may be opportunities to buy shares in some advantageous way (i.e. buy a share get a share, type deal).
But, overall, I would guess base salaries to range form $75k to $120k (and maybe higher for certain firms in big markets) with bonuses in the 20-30%. I realize that is a large range, but what they do varies a ton, so I would expect salaries to do the same (they did in the past).
Given that your profile is anon for the this post, I will go ahead and guess out loud your $100b (if you mean market cap, more measured than AUM for REITs) one must be American Tower (under the the infrastructure heading). If so, they are so unique (since it really isn't classic real estate), I wouldn't even venture a guess what they are paying (but personally curious, even though I have no desire to work there personally, still curious about them).
Oh man. I was trying to hide the REITs' names because not many REITs' have MBA programs - just in case some of those HRs spot me here lol. But it's ok. I knew once I gave out the names and $, people would figure out. But I totally get your rationale and conclusion. Thank you sir!

For full-time. Asset classes are healthcare and infrastructure. 2 different REITs. AUM is between 20 - 100B

I mean, when there is literally only one REIT with a market cap even close to $100B......
Sorry for that then! You can always delete the comments and/or edit them out. Good luck!
