Best Financial Modeling Courses to Take

I'm an undergrad junior, and I'm trying to boost my resume and prepare for a summer internship by taking some financial modeling courses.

I am taking REFM level 1 right now. The material is generally good, but not having a manual isn't ideal for some of the longer formulas.

What courses would other monkeys recommend? The goal is equal parts learning the ins-and-outs and distinguishing myself from other applicants. Price is a factor, although I can probably get the real estate institute at my school to foot some of the bill.

Thanks CC.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on both, but have a couple of concerns. It seems like the Argus supplementation with Miller's book can only be utilized via a CD-Rom that comes with the book. Is there a digital version of that content anywhere? Also, does Staiger's book have a lot of practice exercises?

Thanks, mab.

I'll definitely pick it up. Staiger's book was a great recommendation. I'm about a quarter of the way through it, and it has upped my modeling skills significantly, very well explained.

Thanks, am.

I'll definitely be buying Staiger's book, and BIWS program sounds very solid. BTW, if anyone already has BIWS and is looking for REFM, I'd be happy to do a file-swap. I have REFM's Bootcamp 1 right now, don't have 2 & 3.

I can second Staiger's book. It is practical and well done. It should be required reading in all RE MBA/MSRE programs. If you google his full name and georgetown syllabus pdf - you will see how he uses the text in his own classes in their MS RE program.

I would add to check out the new book by Danny Myers - New Economic Thing and Real Estate. It is an interesting and very solid 2016 text and covers a lot of the changes that have occurred over the last years and has am interesting optic on the future of the industry.

Not a modeling book as much as a good overlay to sanity check what you are putting into your models and why.

I am also looking for BIWS Real Estate.
