Best Masters of Real Estate Development Programs Abroad?

Anybody know of any good Masters of Real Estate Development overseas? Would this degree abroad hold the same value here in the United States as a program like NYU?

Seems like a great experience. I have a good baseline in spanish that I would like to evolve and a year abroad could improve my skills in the language. Been inquiring into MRED at IE School of Architecture in Madrid. Just wanted to gauge how that degree would play back here in the states. Never studied abroad and always wanted to live in a new city for a year.

It would be an interesting experience, but if you're planning on working inthe US you would be better off taking a real estate development masters program in the US.

Real estate markets and the laws that govern them differ from country to country. For example: you could study in a place like Singapore and if the education is geared towards helping grads work in the local market, your entire education towards RE development would most likely be based around dealing with the development of leasehold properties (Singapore state owns all underlying land) as opposed to Fee-Simple (vast majority of land ownership in the US). Another example would be that the financing of RE Development differs from country to country quite a bit. I can imagine RE Dev. in countries like Italy, China, Brazil, and the US all have a different set of hoops you have to jump through in order to obtain financing.

So if you have a specific country you want to work in then by all means go study there and learn the local market. If you want to study abroad but eventually work here the US, go to a masters program to a country that is similar to the US (Canada, UK, Australia some Western European Countries) or just stay put.
