Best way to get the modeling skills?
So I’m looking to start in institutional IS/DSF brokerage post graduation and really want to get the technical modeling excel skills to the place they need to be. What would be the best strategy/method or place to get these modeling skills in undergrad? And how proficient were you before actually starting full time? Any models or free learning resources would help me out a bunch. Thanks!
I really think the best think you can do in undergrad is get really good at excel, then at least you have the tools to navigate your way through a model. You'll pick up so much once you hit the desk, but it helps if you can focus on the content (the models) and not the medium (excel).
This is helpful, thanks man. How proficient are analyst hires at an institutional firm/team like JLL or cbre expected to be? I’m assuming I will be given a technical test, I just don’t know how sophisticated they will be.
