Brokerage to REPE
Have any of you went from being a broker to REPE. Ive had trouble when applying to REPE analyst position. How many years of experience do you need to go get an analyst position

Went from D/E brokerage to $2B REPE firm doing Acq & AM. Jumped over after 3.5 years. It's totally doable. Keep your LinkedIn up to date and don't be afraid to make it an online resume for yourself as Headhunters constantly track for keywords. Good luck.
Reach out to people at these firms you apply to. Build relationships before a role opens up, talk to these people every 1-2 months without the intention of looking for a job there. When they have an opening reach out mentioning the opening, ask for advice and to hear more about their day to day. Do this with a few people at the same firm even if it's small.
Continuously build the skills you need for the role outside of work if you aren't getting it. Even if you don't get the first offer the experience will help on the next interviews.
