Hey feeguy, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I am sad to say, but this thread is lonely, so thought I'd post in here to try and help out. Some potential topics that might help:
If we're lucky, maybe I can guilt some users to help you out: Christian-Miller Jsix @slatter86"
Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.

Is this like an actual/official program, or is it just an associate role on a team? There used to be the WHEEL program, then they discontinued it, then brought it back, etc. But I haven't heard of this before unless it's the same thing just re-branded.
If OP is referring to the company I think he is referring to than it is not the WHEEL program. From what I recall about the job description it seemed as though it was a role where they groom you to eventually become a broker. I am unsure on the day to day but I remember the posting requiring 2-3 years of sales experience.
That being said. I met with someone that was apart of the WHEEL program and it sounded awesome. Really would be a great way for new graduates to decide what they want to do. I really wish it would be brought back.
I mean OP mentions CB in the post...... And that was what the WHEEL program did, it trained you to go into one of the disciplines/ business lines at CB, and I'm pretty sure everyone did either a leasing or capital markets brokerage rotation.
Yes, it is an official program. They are looking to grow in the small cap space 1MM - 10MM. It involves mentorship, training, etc. The link below has more information.

MonkeyWrench - on a side note my brethren, where is your monkey photo?
I received an offer for this position from CB. It comes with a small salary in year 1. They pair you with a senior broker with the intent for you to join the team and focus on smaller deals (1-10mm in my market). Looks like they are going after that M&M niche. The associate isn’t entitled to any commissions until year 2 for any deals they may have put together in year 1 and there is mandatory “classes” and webinar training every so often. 100% commission from year 2 on
They're basically just going after M&M but with a more sophisticated brand, fees have been compressing on the top end of the market for a while, and these low end deals earn a tons of revenue per deal.
Could you elaborate on why this SBL space is profitable and you earn tons of revenue per deal on these loans versus bigger deals? Arent there a ton of players now in this SBL space, particularly non bank private lenders?
I was talking purely on investment sales, I don't know anything about D&E
