Career Advice

I am a 3rd yr analyst who started off at an elite real estate developer after a target grad school who moved over to an elite real estate private equity shop. Started off in cap markets and moved over to investments. I quit under a year into the role since I was not meshing with the firm and was able to land a decent role at an elite real estate developer, but am looking to break back into investments. The firm I am at is not hiring for that group anytime soon. How best do you guys think I should frame my decision to leave (was not fired I quit)? How do you all think this impacts my prospects at a good firm dev or pe?
