Change in job title
Hi everyone,
I am currently an Investment Associate at a boutique investment firm specializing in real estate, based in Europe. My role encompasses sourcing, analyzing, and closing new deals, as well as overseeing portfolio management for current investments (which are managed by third-party asset managers).
Recently, I was offered the opportunity to take on the title of “Portfolio Manager,” although my responsibilities would remain unchanged. While I find the acquisition phase of my role more appealing than the portfolio management side, I am wondering whether this title change would add significant value to my résumé as I advance in my career.
Alternatively, I could negotiate for the title “Investment Manager”.
I would appreciate any advice or thoughts on which title might be more advantageous in the long term.
Thank you!
