CIM Group Interview Excel Test
Hello,
I have an interview as an analyst coming up with CIM Group and I was told there would be an excel test during the interview.
I will have an MS Finance in about a week, so I have experience with financial modeling but I am a little concerned as we did not cover any real estate in our program (mainly risk mgmt, fixed income, derivatives, equities, and econometrics w/python).
Has anyone taken and excel test with CIM Group or comparable shops?
I'm expecting DCF modeling, and building a pivot tables/charts but not sure what else to expect..
Any help would be appreciated.

How'd you model derivatives..SDE or binomial pricing model or something else?
I think your best bet if you have depth in quant finance/math + python is just go go through the models on this site for ground up construction/asset purhcase and reposition: https://www.adventuresincre.com/.

We used Black Sholes/ Binomial/ Monte Carlo for calculating derivative pricing.
I’ve been looking at a few of the models on Adventures in CRE great resource.
What type of position is it for?

Test is a joke. If you know RE, it'll be straightforward.
Any updates on how it went? I have to do one soon would love to know your experience.

They just said they will do an excel test. They didn't mention anything specific.

Anyone have detail on what this test looked like? Acquisition, development? Timed? Multi tier waterfall?
I have a copy of the excel test. Former colleague was with their portfolio management group. Not sure what the best way to share a pdf is but happy to upload.
