Commercial Brokerage Career Path?

What is WSO"s thoughts on brokerage in CRE as a career path?

I work at one of the larger RE shops and know how the field is network dominated, relatively small, etc. which may dissuade many. It appears to be a path that doesn't always reward a higher degree (MBA, etc.) but can have earning potential comparable to IB, consulting, law, etc. at around $1-5MM/year in the larger markets. The field rewards sales skills over the quant/qual skills you see in most professions dominating the WSO boards

There just doesn't seem to be much talk about brokerage on here, and I get it as this is predominantly a finance site, but am just curious on the community's opinion
