CPP Investments (US)
Fellow primates, anyone got info on CPP? How they’re doing, comp, culture, anything would be helpful. Saw a posting for analyst in NY quoting base comp at 125-150k, seems super high. Also curious about working at pension funds in general. Obviously huge in Canada, asking more for US.

Canadian Pension = Boring Deals
They're a massive global institutional investor, one of the biggest. Their NYC office is a quasi-headquarters for them, biggest outside Toronto I believe.
It's a recognizable name globally and they're smart folks, pay well (at least in Canada they pay their real estate team more in line with traditional PE from what I've heard), and work more than a typical pension but less than a typical REPE shop.
They're largely direct investors, and as someone else said deals are likely to be boring due to risk profile although you'll get to do more portfolio/OpCo takedowns.
bump, any insight on the nyc team?
no insight but seesm like they are targeting assocaites with that pay range
Just saw the latest job post on LinkedIn. looks like Associates are pulling in 150–180K base. That’s pretty wild… anyone have a sense of what the bonus looks like on top of that? And probly deferred bonus / carry?
Targeting sr analyst / early assos. Base comp is higher in US than Toronto. Bonus 60% + additional multiplier impact. Deferred bonus happens sr asso onwards. No carry.
