CRE: Asset Management vs. Portfolio Management

I got an interview for a portfolio management analyst position. The job posting says that I will be working closely with the Asset Management and acquisitions teams. I thought AM and PM were the same thing in a CRE context?

He pushed me to be more intentional about how I talk about my experience and gave me concrete steps to prepare for interviews, from tailoring my resume to practicing financial modeling.
