Some other form of real estate lending.
False. You can go work for an equity investments team as long you're credible and a strong network.
False? OP asked for typical exits. The most typical exit is lending to lending. That can mean going to a different bank, a conduit lender, a life insurance company, GSE/DUS lending, or a debt fund. That can also mean becoming a debt broker.
Considering an SA program in lending rn but want to explore REPE down the road, is this an easy jump to make? seems to be some disagreement here.
I am going from traditional IB to REPE.
There are plenty of exit opportunities. A great place to see deal flow and get to know the players in the space. Almost everyone in my analyst class at a bank doing CRE lending exited to the equity side, either a developer or REPE firms.
CEO
literally anything. Really depends on what lending you're taking about. Debt fund? local bank? agency? its a very wide bucket.
There's going to be a generation of dumb debt guys who make a fortune while the young smart guys break their backs trying to get into a 250k/yr REPE job/get out of the debt biz.
I know a guy who left IBK to be a debt producer and he makes millions.
So true. Debt production is def not for everyone tho. U gotta suck tons of dick and forever be your clients bitch… but who doesn’t do that
Lending at a MS, JPM, GS, WF, BofA, etc. type?
Literally anywhere in the industry.
