CRE pronunciation
Interested your thoughts.
“Kree” or “C-R-E”?
People use both all the time, but I wonder if one is “right” or not.

Who the fuck says kree
Hear it a lot from banking folks. Took me aback as well. Once you get used to it, it is nice shaving 3 syllables to 1.
Bankers use it all the time. Drives me up a wall.
same people that say "beeps" unironically instead of "bips" or "EBIT-DAH" instead of the much smoother "EBITDUH"
The EBITDA pronunciation is fine but if someone says “beeps” then they deserve jail time.
.
CREE makes light bulbs dawg
I've been in the industry ~10 years and have never heard anybody speak either of these terms... just say "commercial real estate"
Never heard anyone say CREE, like never ever. So whoever said it is most likely the next Jeffrey Dahmer weirdo type.
Its usually commercial real estate or CRE.
Who are these "people"?
Sounds like very junior analysts or kids going through recruiting, who want to sound like industry insiders. No one is in such a rush that they have to save a half second by phonetically pronouncing an acronym.
My friend, I'd like to introduce you to: Managing Director, or worse; Associate Director
I'd lose my damn mind if someone said the word "kree" to me... verbally saying "C-R-E" is weird enough, just say real estate or commercial real estate.
