Very different from their IBW. Since IU is a non-target school traditionally, the IBW is a way around that and is really the only way to get into IB at a top bank. There are exceptions, but generally that's the way it works. Not being in this CRE workshop probably wouldn't be a barrier for break into the industry. But being in it also is probably not going to overcome non-target status at breaking into top shops out of undergrad like Blackstone, Starwood, Eastdil, MS etc.
