Used to work there. Seemed like most people wanted to say but you could maybe lateral into a capital markets group but REIB would be pretty different and you would have to probably go in as Analyst 1. Also, market helps. Which market are you in?

If you have good networking skills and good work ethic, anything is possible in CRE.
Canadian reib has brokerage arms.
RBC,TD, Scotia all have brokerage arms which are part of REIB. It is definitely doable if you are on Pickens team. He came from RBC himself.
Trust me, there are very clear silos between the brokers and bankers at those shops. CIBC used to staff on both corp advisory and brokerage… and don’t do the latter anymore lol
