Development Consulting as first job out of school

I just got on offer from company in Northeast the position is as an analyst in development consulting. The clients are transit authorities, universities, municipalities, and high net worth real estate investors and landowners. If i want to to end up in REPE acquistons or A&D at a large developer is this a good first job? Thanks.

This sounds like it would be good experience, but would probably not position you well for an acquisitions role without a little bit of salesmanship on your part. It sounds like you will be dealing with entitlement, approvals, DD, etc and not so much on the financing/ underwriting. If you could learn some finance/underwriting on the side you could be pretty valuable to a GP fund or developer that focuses on ground-up development.
