Due Diligence - ALTA Survey
For those of you on a team who preform the due diligence themselves, can you explain how you review an Alta survey and what things you look for? Do you normally interpret the survey yourself or does the surveyor provide a narrative/write up highlighting the important findings?
I’ve briefly seen an Alta survey and it looks very confusing. I’d have no idea what I’d be looking for.
I'm on the debt side, but ATLA's are often a lender requirement and get reviewed by our legal counsel against the title commitment.

In summary, it's primarily an instrument to determine whether a property confirms to zoning code (I.E, parking minimums, minimum setbacks, density) and confirm/visualize any claims on title.
