Duff and Phelps Real Estate Analyst?

To be honest, I have no have no idea what I want to do. My 3 choices are:

PWM Duff and Phelps real estate analyst Real estate I banking/PE

What are the chances of getting into REPE with experience at a place like D&P?

Not quite sure what D&P’s analyst program is like. Does anyone know? Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Solid entry-level real estate analyst program (at least out of the Chicago office); mostly middle-market advisory and valuation work. It's a great way to launch an RE career, but it seems like most analysts are quick to jump ship after a year or so. The work is very comparable to any Big-4 real estate transaction advisory group, and guys who leave generally point to low pay and boring engagements (ex. appraising vacant land in rural Indiana).

D&P actually places pretty well within the REPE industry, and the majority of their former analysts land in asset management. My firm's hired a handful of D&P guys (mostly in asset management), but we did bring over a senior analyst for an acquisitions role. Every D&P alum I've worked with is intelligent, hard-working, down-to-earth, and well prepared for buy side work.

With that said, if your ultimate goal is to increase your chances of landing an REPE gig, then the real estate investment banking / PE option is going to be your best bet.

Are those 3 choices on the table right now?

What business line would you be working? I knew a guy who worked on one of their mid-market valuations teams - which I believe is their bread and butter. If you are new to the industry then I think it would be a great opportunity to learn how to value a property. However, I would expect low comp and a nerdy culture (compared to say, brokerage or acquisitions).
