Event Driven Trading Analyst to Commercial Real Estate

Hi,

Just finishing up my first year as a quantitative trading analyst for a hedge fund on the event-driven equity desk. Got here from undergrad after studying BBA and Comp Sci. Have always been really interested in real estate but kind of fell into quant trading from undergrad due to trying to apply my two majors.

Is it in any way possible for me to switch into commercial real estate without an MBA or some sort of graduate degree? Advice on this? My interest in the industry is pretty broad for now, ultimately would be interested in development, but really just looking to break in in any sub-sector now. Would be willing to accept a pay cut; not sure if it's covid related but struggling to make the switch through some light networking and applications.

Maybe event driven strategy could set u up for a role in CRE special situations group?
