Exit Opps Institutional GP → BD / Capital Raising Roles

Currently an A2 (4 YOE) generalist in acquisitions/development at large global GP with experience across multiple product types. 

I’ve realized I’m more interested in the origination, relationships, and capital formation side of the business vs. a pure investments/LP track long-term. I still enjoy the deal side, but more from a growth / sales / connector angle.

I’m targeting a move to NYC from another T1 US market and thinking through what paths best align with that shift.

Areas I’m considering:

Capital Markets / Equity Placement / Debt Advisory
High deal flow, exposure to both sponsors and capital, with a path toward a relationship-driven role.

Lean / Entrepreneurial GPs
Smaller teams with hybrid roles (acquisitions + capital raising + BD) and real upside.

Private Wealth / Capital Raising Platforms
Focused on UHNW / family office capital with direct exposure to investor relationships and distribution.

Traditional REPE might not be the best fit if the goal is to lean into BD / capital raising.
