Expectations on feedback for model test
Took a modeling test for a firm, not a large one. Gave you three days, worked on it after work each night. Find out I didn’t get it, generic HR response on why. Emailed the interviewer and HR thanking them and asked for model feedback. Just would like learning points, first test and know I have areas to improve upon. Crickets. Reasonable to expect a response?
provided you worded the email tactfully (and not complaining about how you didn't get the role), a response is well within the realm of reason IMO
Yeah, merely thanked for time and said I hope they find a good fit. Asked for any quick and easy tips to improve the model for the next time. Oh well.
As noted above, assuming you were respectful in your email, I would expect feedback. I think most of us within the industry are interested in constant professional improvement.
If it's a smaller firm I would expect feedback. Bigger firms, they can probably get away with not providing feedback at all or being very short with their input.
I'd say wait a little bit before following up. As others have said, if you're tactful, they should be able to provide feedback and remain professional about it. Sounds like you're doing it correctly, would be a shame if they didn't at least provide some constructive feedback for next time.
