Firm Recently Hired for Same Position

Hey guys,

My firm recently hired another analyst starting next week, we’re a lean team and already have two of us handling the deal flow. We don’t have a need, but this was brought on in anticipation of more work/a favor to the founders friend.

Concerned because we are a lean team and deal flow doesn’t warrant a need, could this be a sign they may cut one of us more experienced analysts. There have been no negative reviews but it seems like writing on the wall eventually if we’re a very lean team of 5 handing all that’s needed and they bring someone on when they weren’t really looking. Are they doing the kid a favor and it takes 6 months to take on train someone new at a leaner shop.
