Firms Recruiting out of NYU's MS in RE (Schack Institute)

What are some of the firms that recruit from Schack Institute of Real Estate (NYU) after a Master's degree? Is the program worth it and do firms seek employees from this program given that it isn't very competitive to get into the program?

I'm in NYC, but didn't go there (or any part of NYU for that matter), but like I swear to god, you find Schack graduates everywhere in NYC at like every firm in the city. Go to any networking event and just ask "where did you go to school" and I'm sure you will find one like in 5 seconds. I'll name drop Silverstein, RXR, SL Green, Vornado, and Related, I can think of people I personally know at those for sure.

You won't get recruited out per say by a career fair or on campus networking event. Although that is possible, you will benefit more from utilizing the programs network which is extensive. You need to arrange to grab coffee with alumni and find your way into organizations through networking. Just because you go to this program, doesn't mean you will get a job at top tier firms. You need to be aggressive and find your way in. The resources (network) is there to be used. But don't expect to get an offer from Hines or some other firm or a similar caliber through on campus recruiting. If you are intelligent, take your coursework seriously, work hard, sharpen your modeling skills on the side, and network aggressively, then you will be in excellent shape. I was in a strong MRED program myself and many people expected to go to top tier firms simply because we were at X prestigious school. There’s too much competition out there. You need to outcompete your classmates through the aforementioned strategies.
