Fly out for super day decision

When you fly out for a super day do they usually give the decision right away? I am not sure if there is a difference in waiting time. This is like the first time I have done an in person interview since most of them are on (zoom thanks to Covid I guess?)

-damn did college students looking for internships like 10 years ago and you still have to fly out to all of these locations? Or or just phone call and get hired? I’m thinking back to before video chat was a thing/Skype etc.

Back in the day the final interviews were always in person (first rounds would be over the phone). Usually 4-5 hours of interviews, company flies you out, puts you up in a hotel, meal stipend, etc. As for offers, mixed bag, sometimes you would get an offer the same day (maybe a call on the way to the airport), other times it would take a few days to a week or so. It usually depends on when the team can meet and go over all the candidates and make decisions (and how far along they are in their process, some firms will have multiple super days and wait until a few have passed to make final decisions).

It makes sense. I knew it would depend on the team/company. Someone told me if a company is flying you out for a super day, they are already putting an investment in you, and most likely, you will get the job. I am sure it is not always the case, though.
