For those of you raising money from retail investors, whats your success rate?
I have put together a decent list of 15 people (i know its a small list), but many are wanting to invest in some deals and areas that I specialize in. I know its almost impossible and probably idiotic to assume that all 15 are reliable as investors. I was told to always have a bigger list of investors than I need. So lets say I need $5M in equity and each investor I talk to is looking to invest a $100K. Should I be aiming to have a list of 150 investors, 200, 300, 1000,etc? Anyone here raising money from retail investors? If so, what success rate are you seeing?
