Getting Pension Fund Money?
So we're an emerging manager focused in a niche asset class. We had talks with a medium sized pension fund that is looking to invest $20M with us. Have any of you had experience in investing money on behalf of pensions? It seems like they are not giving the $20M upfront but rather when we find a deal and bring that to them. Its more like a capital commitment.
This is normal. Just send your capital call notice in a week early and it will get to you. Be prepared to likely have a consultant review your operational and underwriting capabilities for sign off.
