Greystar referral request

Hi everyone, I'm graduating this May with a degree in Finance and have been narrowing my focus to the real estate side of the indsutry. Looking at my resume, which includes real estate experience through an internship and also through high school, I really think that going into that market is the right step forward for me.

After doing a lot of research on different REITs and other real estate development firms, I thought that Greystar really stood out ot me, especially with their office being in Charleston, it's even better of a match as it's closer to home. If anyone here has experience at Greystar, or would be happy/open to referring me for one of their analyst roles, I would love to chat and speak on my experience.

Thank you so much in advance, this is my first post, so hopefully I don't rub anybody the wrong way

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Greystar is a strong choice for someone looking to enter the real estate industry. They are recognized as a top real estate company with significant growth in areas like property management, development, acquisitions, and international markets. If you're looking for a referral, here are some actionable tips:

  1. Networking: Real estate is a networking-heavy industry. Reach out to alumni from your school or professionals in your network who may have connections at Greystar. Platforms like LinkedIn can be invaluable for this.

  2. Highlight Relevant Experience: Tailor your resume and cover letter to emphasize your real estate internship and any other relevant experience. Greystar values candidates with a strong foundation in real estate and finance.

  3. Engage on Forums: Since you're already on WSO, consider engaging with users who have shared insights about Greystar. For example, users like "odog808" and "BridgeHampton" have shared valuable perspectives on the company. You could reach out to them for advice or potential connections.

  4. Direct Application: While referrals are helpful, don't hesitate to apply directly to Greystar's analyst roles. Their principal investing group is growing, and they are actively raising funds and expanding their team.

  5. Leverage Location: Mentioning your connection to Charleston and your interest in being closer to home is a great personal touch. It shows genuine interest in the company and the location.

Good luck with your application! If you need further advice on preparing for interviews or refining your resume, feel free to ask.
