Have you ever had this type of interview?

Had a final round today with two directors via zoom. Had never met either of them so really didn’t know what to expect. Absolutely killed the thing and they loved it. Conversation was flowing incredibly and it was truly an awesome experience. We were laughing and joking around a good bit in between technical/fit questions. I would consider myself slightly introverted, so anytime I find myself in these types of situations I perform extremely well. I would say that most of my interviews go well, however, this one by far was the most “relaxed”.

Btw this is for a FT analyst role with a very reputable firm.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Sure, I don't think what you describe is "rare" at all.... final round interviews are usually not meant to be "challenging", it's a final get to know you gut check. Really, this can be true in all rounds, but every firm and person and have different views.

So yes, have had these, and have gotten the job afterwards most of time. So fingers crossed, good luck!

That makes sense.. this is my first time interviewing for FT positions being a senior. Appreciate the feedback

Yes I have had tons of those interviews and feelings after one (in person) and....ended up not getting the job.

Since you are new to this as it’s your first FT job, understand that that interviews can always go well or feel well but there’s always additional things that happen behind the scene that may cause you not to get an offer. Not being a downer but Basically I am saying is to not get too hung up on that “good feeling”.

Anyways best of luck and hope you get the job.
