Headhunters in RE?

I had a headhunter reach out to me about potential roles for 2026/2027 and wanted to see if anyone else has had this happen. I’m currently in a real estate credit role right out of college and I’ve always heard that most headhunters mainly target IB analysts out of college

Has anyone had experience with this? Are these usually just initial intro calls, or is there an actual process that follows? I’m not really sure how it works on the real estate side and would love to hear how it typically plays out.

I have 4 headhunters reach out to me every day about roles.

They are all morons. None of them have roles.

I don’t meant their opportunities are bad either. They just straight up do not have the listings they’re pitching nor the connections to the company.

Worked with a few head hunters; all them were terrible, they redact the names and resume information when it is handed over to the client, as so the client can't go around them.

So one time I got on a call only to be asked questions about a resume that was not mine.

I was just dumfounded how someone could be so stupid.

Most recruiters are awful. Where to even begin…bad follow up, lack of knowledge about the roles they’re shopping, dishonesty about process/feedback/actual duties and responsibilities of roles.

I have met a couple who do seem to be more critically gifted and work harder to place people but the majority act like you should be grateful that they’re speaking with you.

Had a very negative experience with one guy recently who cut me off and dismissed my experience, then got mad when I made a slightly cynical but factually accurate rebuttal regarding the number of candidates who he could expect for his very niche role. He started blustering and getting all defensive. That was sort of an eye opening moment for me, and I think I’ll probably never even bother reaching out to any of these fraudulent r*t4rds ever again.
