How difficult is the move into Luxury Hotel REPE from other asset classes?
Currently at a $20-30bn AUM REPE firm (latest fund size ~1-2bn). Invests 75% in Multifamily and Industrial with some investments in retail and office in the past.
I’m really interested in the luxury hotel space and am doing courses on the side and networking with people in the industry.
How hard is the move into luxury hotels at the Analyst/Associate level considering I don't have any deal experience in hotels and how different it is from the other asset classes? What are some of the firms I should aim for if the move is possible?
I mean there's not a ton of shops that focus only on luxury hotels, so I'd imagine fairly hard...
What about normal hotels
Just go take action. Asking for answers is going to create limiting beliefs. If you’re interested in hotels - go start applying and networking for hotel roles. It sounds like you’re early in your career. You can make any move you want. You’re only stuck if you think you’re stuck.
This was quite motivational.
What course are you doing on the side, if you don’t mind me asking
