IB -> MM PE -> MBA -> REPE?
What candidates do REPE shops hire or do internships directly from top MBAs?
Curious if doing MM PE at a fund that does industrials, business services, or consumer would help if you wanted to pivot to REPE post-MBA? Not a top shop, but one with a little more sane hours.
My buddies love their lives in REPE (all did RE IB) and I'm getting a serious case of FOMO. They work 20 less hours than me and make almost as much all-in.
I feel like you could save 2 years and 500k+ and just make the jump directly
I've never gone through that recruiting, but I imagine this is the right sentiment. MBA is a great vacation tho haha, so if you get scholarship it could be worth it.
Like the guy below said, the recruiting is super unstructured. Even the most corporate RE firms pretty much post Associate roles on an as-needed basis. I would definitely try 6 months of intense networking first
You could probably get an internship at any REPE firm but FT is a different story. Most firms hire MBAs on an as-needed basis so there aren’t many post-MBA programs. Notable ones that recruit on campus at top schools are BXP, CIM, Hines, Related, Tishman, Greystar, TCC, but then it’s pretty market-specific
PGIM acquisitions, and honestly this isn’t close if your goal is acq down the line. Can jump to acquisitions at most top 50 funds from PGIM easily or PM/AM if you want as well.
Was so confused by this comment until I saw the thread you were trying to respond to
I didn’t even realize this was the wrong thread I’m tweaking 😂
