IB to MSRE to REPE?

Hello everyone, I am interested in making the switch from boutique IB to an MSRE program, (Georgetown, NYU, Johns Hopkins, maybe Columbia.)

My question is, with zero real estate experience, will I be able to network into an REPE or transaction firm?

Generally would agree with this but emphasize knowing real estate terminology and processes as much as possible. I know a few IB people who came over to RE and stumbled a bit at first because they didn't truly understand the nuances. It's not rocket science as you've seen on prior posts but certainly important to have knowledge of the business.

I don't think an MSRE would hurt, especially given the connections you'll make. Worth a shot to do without it though if you can. Will save you a bunch of money.
