Interesting Hotel Angle

Has anybody on this forum, or do you know someone who has, moved from a corporate hotel flag (Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt, etc.) to REIB/REPE/hotel owner/developer?

Consider the role being on the investment/development front while at the flag. I'm wondering if an opportunity like this leading developments on the corporate front would be good experience to later translate into a more lucrative field within hospitality. At corporate, there's no carry or participation, but I'm thinking this could be a good avenue to get a bunch of deal reps.

Shhhh don't blow up the spot! This is literally the avenue I am currently taking. It appears to be fairly common at least within my network. Left acquistions (non-hotel) to join dev team at a brand, with the ultimate end goal of getting the reps (which are definitely there, including international) and hopefully pivoting back to a buyside team to lead a hotel vertical.

Yes, I know people who have done this
