Internship/Career Advice

I'm currently a rising senior at a non-target school in the DMV area. I've had previous internships with a small scale house-flipper and one in a property management role with some ad hoc asset management and acquisitions tasks. Currently, I've been interning with a real estate developer for the last 4 months and have recently transitioned from a part-time internship during school to a full-time internship for the summer.

I do not have any sort of concrete role- tasks are randomly assigned and not very in-depth. For example, I have had tasks ranging from market research for new developments and reviewing commercial leases, to tracking down samples of building finishes. On the bright side, I am able to see different aspects of real estate and the development process but I am getting worried that my roles are not as specialized as they should be. I feel that I am gaining a general, cursory understanding of certain topics instead of an in-depth knowledge of a select few.

Going forward and with possible internship opportunities coming up during the school year, should I try and push towards getting a more specialized experience (e.g. someone with an acquisitions internship), or should I embrace getting to see a lot of different areas at once without thoroughly learning one/two of them?
