Intro Call After Applying to Job Opening - What Do You Want to See/Hear
What do more senior professionals want to see from a potential Analyst/Associate on more informal calls after applying to a job opening at the company. This is mentioning to people you know, hey I just applied to xyz role saw you knew x there and they connect you.
To me these are interviews and can make or break you, but more informal than the actual process. What would you want to see as a VP/MD when there's an Associate/Senior Analyst Acquisitions role open on the team.
In terms of underwriting, you want to hear about a deal in the same asset class you focused on. Why or why not they passed, thoughts on the market, why this firm, how does your experience fit into this next role, anything else?
Have a call with an MD to learn more about him, the firm, the role and want to be prepared.
