IRA Capital insight?

Hi all. I wasn't able to find any threads on this company, so here goes. Does anybody have any insight into IRA Capital, based out of Irvine, California? Five partners, heavy into medical office investment, seem to use a variety of disparate capital sources for their equity. Lots of growth in the past five years.

Appreciate any thoughts you kind folks can share, either from an employee's perspective or as a transactional counterpart. Culture seems a little hectic from what I can tell, but also seems like they take care of their own and people tend to stick around. All perspectives welcome and encouraged.

Cheers.

There’s only one specific I can really remember but I was asked the question “how do you go about sourcing lease comps” and I gave the answer of, “CoStar, internal databases and contacting leasing brokers, etc.” I was then grilled for the next 5 minutes because I didn’t say “whatever it takes” and was told I should have said google and that they need someone who is scrappy to find data when others can’t.

Dude was honestly just looking for an excuse to play bad cop and was latching on to anything he could.

I also had a negative experience interviewing with them a few years ago and withdrew from their process.  The team felt very top heavy (granted, that's not unusual for lean firms), but their attitude towards me as interviewee gave the impression junior employees aren't valued at all.  Culture just didn't seem great for such a small shop, and comp felt very low for southern California and they were pretty insistent on being in-office. As previous poster mentioned, interviewer was pretty arrogant and I was someone who knew their space well and had a strong track record.

When I interviewed, there was a nice guy who had been there less than a year, and he was gone a year later, which says a lot.

Having said that, they're actually putting money to work in this environment, so not a terrible shop for someone eager for reps in 2024.
