IS or D/E to REPE MF

Been looking at some of the profiles at Megafund REPE and noticed a couple people from a IS or D/E placement background. I was wondering how one could make this transition. For the most part MF seem to value pedigree so REIB is the most tried and true way to break into their REPE teams. Is it luck with getting staffed on good teams or projects, connections or something else?

Are they coming from like Stacom or Spies group?

Other than that, I would say it’s not going to be realistic. The REPE MF really cater towards traditional IB and want people coming from those backgrounds. It’s just a lot more relevant to the types of deals they are doing.
