Jumping to London as an Analyst

Fellas, I would appreciate some help here.

I’m an anlayst in a Euro city at one of the bigger institutional developers, where I do DM and investment – typical development analyst kinda role. I’ve been here for just over 2 years

I’ve always been infatuated with London (have English parents and regularly used to go there when I was younger) and I’m trying to explore the possibility of getting an analyst role at a developer/investor there. I’m hoping there’s one or two on the forum who have done this and can provide advice.

  1. What’s life as a real estate analyst like in London? Either development/cap markets/investment – I get that it’s firm dependant, but on the whole are you well paid? Can you aford to live in the nicer areas of London? Are the hours tough (my firm is kinda mixed with peaks and troughs hours-wise)
  2. What’s the best way to go about finding/getting roles? I have been confined to LinkedIn and, to be honest, I haven’t found anything great yet. Should I reach out to specific headhunters/recruitment agencies? Are there any you’d recommend?
  3. From the little Ive seen on LinkedIn, it seems as though my kind of experience at a developer wouldn’t be as highly sought after as someone coming from banking/Big 4 advisory etc which I found pretty odd, but I assume that’s not the case?
